Evah Pirazzi Gold Cello Set 3350

I wrote earlier about my problems with a "C" string breaking while re-stringing my cello. And while I was a bit frustrated at the time, everything post-event couldn't have gone any more according to Hoyle. Concord Music staff wrote to me upon reading my initial review and provided an E-mail address for Pirastro USA, suggesting I write to them. Within fewer than 10 hours I heard from the company via a gentleman named Mr. Ed Mingo. He offered to send out a new string immediately and waive the requirement to send the company back the broken string this one time--quite generous of him since I no longer had the string in my possession. As I said earlier and which bears repeating--the "Gold" strings provide a dulcet and full sound--a pleasure to listen to under ear and with this type of customer service--where a company fully stands behind its products--I will re-introduce the EP Gold strings into my string rotation. The overall sound of these strings is very warm, which I appreciated, but my cello, which is a 7/8, is struggling to get that warm sound projected & just sounds really muffled. Also takes a while to speak, especially on the lower strings. It was a good experiment, but I'm going to go back to the normal Eva Pirazzi set for now. (I might start with switching out just the bottom 2 to see if that makes a difference.)

I love the sound quality and power

Evah Golds are one of my top favorite choices for great volume, deep, rich tone quality, ease of playing and sheer beauty of sound. And also very smooth and easy to finger. Even tone and depth across all four strings, they bring out the best in my cello.
