Spirocore viola strings are very responsive & durable; unique spiral rope core allows for longer string vibration time; ideal for arco as well as pizzicato. Similar tension to the standard chrome G, but smaller diameter, which may offer quicker bow response; silver winding may sound warmer on instruments that sound too harsh with the chrome wound string

Warmer than Spirocore Chrome G, but Slower Response

I liked this G when I used it with the Spirocore silver C.

I didn't like it when I used it with the Spirocore tungsten C, as the response felt slower than the C's response, believe it or not. The blend wasn't so good.

On a brighter-sounding viola, I think the warmer silver G might work better than the brighter, quicker-responding chrome G, which still has a warmth to it.

On many darker violas, I suspect that the chrome G might work better.

I don't actually notice that the silver G is any thinner than the chrome G.
