Well, I installed this string shortly after Thanksgiving; I made sure to go to my luthier to widen the grooves enough so the string wouldn't snag. However, the string came with some corrosion between the bridge and tailpiece, but I didn't think it was a big deal because that is not part of the vibrating length. But then just six days later, the string began to unravel at the same spot, so I took it off. About a month later, I installed a new one; this one looked much better and I had high hopes, but it has been over a week and I cannot get the string to sing consistently, especially in fast passages. I know gut strings are different, but I did not have nearly this much trouble playing with the corroded string. Also, when I took the new string off, the winding started to unravel...
Maybe Euxoda is not meant for me. I might try Oliv next, see what happens...It's a shame because when I am able to get it to sing, it has the most glorious sound of any D string I have ever played. I put my old Warchal Amber back on, and the sound is very similar, but it still lacks that beautiful color I loved about Euxoda.
