I purchased this case to have a lightweight, compact case for my violin. My primary goal was that the case be sturdy and secure for the violin. It serves that purpose well. The clasps that close the case are very secure, and spring loaded, and the case shuts very tightly.
Some observations may be helpful to others.
-The case is small, and there is limited storage space for accessories. I don't use a shoulder rest, so this doesn't impact me much, but if I did it could pose a challenge. I store extra strings under the violin, and rosin and my practice mute in the little detachable pouch at the front. The case was clearly not designed with the intent of carrying your music or other equipment.
- The backpack straps are very robust. However, when attached they make it difficult to lay the case on a flat surface. (My old case had a flat, sown set of straps which didn't interfere. ) I attached one strap to the two front D-Rings and carry it over the shoulder instead. The subway strap is excellent.
All in all, considering the price, I think it's good buy. I adapted the case to my usage by adding a backpack which carries my other gear.
