The Larsen A is the most expressive A string I have found. It goes nicely with Evahs or Thomastic . If you lean on the tailpiece you'll be sorry, though. Pop!

I play a small John Newton viola (16 1/2"). Larsen A and dominant for C,G & D work fine. Concord has very prompt delivery by mail
and the strings are always fresh. Some of the strings I purchased locally at a store were actually corroded when I opened the packages as they had been sitting there in the store so long. Concord does a sufficiently high volume of sales that their inventory is always fresh.

My favorite sounding a string for viola.
The loop end version of this string lately has been snapping on me. Installed a used one from 6 months ago and has held up for almost 2 weeks at this point.
