Oliv-Stiff Violin G String, Gut

I hesitated to spend $85 for a string, but this is worth every penny. Next time I'll get one gauge thicker (I got the 16, I'll go to 16 1/2. Try it, you won't regret it.

I ordered the same G string I have ordered for probably the last 30 years. The last time I ordered it somehow it was not as good as it was this time. I really was very happy about this and the quality of it is dark, powerful with "punch"...if you like that as I do it works great on my 1854 "Messiah Stradivarius" copy JB Vauillaume. My only reservation with the string is where it comes from as I am borderline vegan! The "gut" aspect of it troubles me now..tough to make a full decision because it's always along with other Olive strings been my favorite string/string of choice.

Favorite string to get for my taste on my violin

I have a Joseph Curtin violin (1993) - have been the original owner - and always used Evah Pirazzi strings. At the recommendation of a colleague I decided to try the Obligatos. My violin has never sounded this amazing. Still bright but more sweet and mellow. And I love playing the G - I used to avoid the string because of the sound I got. Thought it was my playing - now I realized it was the string. Don't hesitate to try these strings. I really love them.
