Tungsten wound/spiral core; Item: S32

Very popular G string; tungsten winding provides thinner string diameter with quick response time and great projection; very responsive & durable; their unique spiral rope core allows for longer string vibration time, making them ideal for arco as well as pizzicato

expensive but worth it

The Spiracore tungsten C and G seem to be the most reliable strings out there regarding consistency and durability. You can really play into them but they also speak easily in the softer passages. It might have to do equally as much with the cello adjustment than the strings but these are safe bet if you can afford them.
Concord makes them as affordable as they get with their Combo cello sets pricing.

Awesome

The most warm, resonant sounding C string I've played on. Prefer the tungsten spiral over Versum Solo and Larsen Magnacore. Can't go wrong!

Rich and powerful depth

I have been using these strings for many years. Have tried others but always come back to them. I play on a fine old Italian cello and the g and c tungstens provide a big beautiful deep velvet resonant sound. They are also fairly quick to respond and easy to play on. Sometimes it takes a long time (2 weeks) for the strings to break in, other times they sound great right away. I guess quality control is not absolute. They are by far the best strings I have found. Seem to last many months too.
