Designed as an elegant anti-fatigue frog covering for violin, viola and cello bows, the Stringvision Bowgrip offers comfort and ergonomics for the string player.
One size fits all, and stretches over violin, viola, or cello bows of all sizes without removing the frog.
Stringvision Bowgrip is easy to install--simply remove from package and "work it" over the frog. The fit is very secure, and the bow grip will stay in place.
The bowgrip’s thumb indent allows curved and comfortable thumb placement. Additionally, this product will protect any bow from wear, and since the bottom corner of the frog is covered by the grip, this will also help to avoid minor nicks to the bouts of the instrument.
I can finally bend my thumb and it no longer hurts! It's thin and light, but it does add a little weight, which may offset the balance, but I can deal with that. It's rubber, so I don't feel like I'll drop my bow either.
I ordered this as a cushion for the tip and side of my right thumb. At first i found it not so good and uncomfortable, but as i kept playing, and became more used to it, i found that the whole grip was able to help me transfer energy through my right hand to the bow, and i am quite pleased with it. I can still achieve nuance with the bow, but now so much easier and i can loosen my bow grip without fear of the bow slipping out of my hand. It takes a bit to work and squeeze it over the frog, but it fits quite well ( cello). I just bought two more for my other bows ( both wood and carbon).
