IMOHO*, These are the best-sounding mid-priced strings available, today(2016). To get a string that definitely makes my violin sound better than these, I have to spend $137.70 for Pirastro Olive strings. And those are gut, which means you cannot play on them out-of-doors, at least here in the humid South.
So I am happy to pay one fifth the price of the pirastros for a set of great-sounding, long-lasting of Pro Artés. They suit me for both classical music and traditional Irish tunes.
